BoonEx Dolphin Pro is a long-established open-source social networking and dating platform, with the vendor also maintaining the newer UNA CMS as its forward path. Dolphin's appeal is its mature extension marketplace, audio/video chat, groups, events, and matchmaking modules - all freely downloadable with a large existing community of template and plugin developers. Operators wanting a known quantity with no license fee and access to a deep third-party ecosystem often cite Dolphin as a reasonable starting point.

Active core development is slower than commercial alternatives, and BoonEx clearly regards UNA as the future - evaluate Dolphin only if the specific extensions you need exist and the UNA migration path makes sense for your timeline.
