Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
This explains what we collect, why, and the control you have. We try to collect as little as the platform needs, and we understand that discretion matters in this industry - pseudonymity is supported and member profiles are not public or indexed by search engines. This is a plain-language summary, not legal advice.
What we collect
- Account: your username, email and password (hashed). You choose your handle - it needn't be your real name.
- Profile: whatever you add - headline, about, verticals, contacts, sites, vouches.
- Activity: messages you send, connections, RSVPs and reports you file.
- Technical: basic logs and cookies needed to run the site, keep you signed in, and prevent abuse.
How we use it
To run the platform - sign you in, show your profile to other members, deliver your messages, operate the directory, keep the service secure, and contact you about your account. We do not sell your personal data, and we don't use your private messages for advertising.
Messages and member data
Direct messages are stored so conversations persist, and are visible to the people in them. We don't read them routinely, but we may review a conversation that is reported for abuse, and we keep what's needed to enforce our terms and handle reports. Your profile is visible to logged-in members only - not to the public or to crawlers.
Sharing
We share personal data only with the service providers that help us run the platform (such as hosting and analytics), under appropriate terms, and when we're required to by law or to protect the community from harm. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from that sign-in; we never receive your Google password.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work (sign-in, the 18+ gate, security) and privacy-respecting, self-hosted analytics to understand usage in aggregate. We don't run third-party advertising trackers across the member area.
Your control
You can edit or remove most of your data from your profile and settings at any time, and you can delete your account, which removes your profile and associated content. We retain what we're legally required to, and limited records needed for security and abuse prevention. To make a data request, use the contact form.
Contact
Privacy questions and requests go through our contact form. See also our Terms of use. We may update this policy; material changes will be noted here.
