ClipBucket is the most prominent open-source PHP tube script, actively maintained as ClipBucket V5 on GitHub. It offers video upload, FFMPEG conversion, social features (playlists, channels, groups), and Softaculous one-click installs - making it appealing for operators who want to control every line of code and avoid license fees. The community-driven development cycle means security patches and features arrive, but not on a commercial cadence.

Best suited to technically confident operators or developers who intend to customize heavily; out-of-the-box monetization tooling lags behind paid alternatives.
